How to vote.
This page is here whether you vote for me or not. Most people miss the school trustee ballot simply because nobody told them it existed.

You get more than
one ballot.
On October 28 you vote for mayor, for your city councillor, and for your school trustee. They are separate ballots and separate elections. The trustee one is the one that decides your child’s school.

Do I need to register?
Winnipeg maintains a voters’ list, and you can also register at the voting place on the day. Check your status through the City’s election site.

What do I bring?
Bring ID. The City publishes the accepted list — check winnipeg.ca/election2026 before you go so you’re not turned around.

Do I have to vote in every race?
No. You can vote in one, two, or all three. But the trustee race is usually decided by a few hundred votes, so yours counts more there than almost anywhere else.
The City of Winnipeg is the authority on voter eligibility, ID, voting places and advance voting. Where anything here differs from their information, theirs is correct.
