What the law
says about this.
Limit
$1,500 per person
That is the maximum any one individual may contribute to this campaign, counting money and the value of donated goods or services together.
Who
Individuals in Manitoba only
Contributions must come from an individual normally resident in Manitoba, using their own money. Corporations and unions cannot contribute, and no one may give on someone else’s behalf or expecting reimbursement.
Records
Cash capped at $25
Anything above that must come by cheque or e-transfer so it can be properly recorded. We keep a record of every contribution and file the statements the law requires.
Contributions to municipal and school board campaigns in Manitoba are not tax deductible and no tax receipt is issued. Questions about any of this go to the campaign’s Official Agent — call 204.688.7479. Where anything here differs from the requirements in The Public Schools Act and The Municipal Councils and School Boards Elections Act, the legislation governs.
